KARACHI: Pakistan Super League sixth edition (PSL 6 2021) – Match 1 – Karachi Kings VS Quetta Gladiators at Karachi National Stadium – Kings won by 7 wickets with 37 balls remaining.
Karachi Kings had won the toss and elected to field first with Quetta Gladiators scoring 121 runs in the first innings of the first match of the PSL 6 2021 tournament.
Quetta Gladiators had a rough start to their batting with Tom Benton and Sarfaraz Ahmed losing their wickets after scoring just 5 and 7 runs respectively with the pattern containing with rest of the batting line-up except Chris Gayle, who picked up the pace for the Gladiators having scored 39 runs off 24 balls,
Meanwhile, Azam Khan, Ben Cutting and Qais Ahmad managed to rack up 17, 11 and 16 runs respectively. However, the squad failed to perform overall when it came to their batting performance during the match.
On the other side, Karachi Kings were able to score 126/3 and won the 1st match of the PSL 6 2021 with 37 balls remaining despite loosing an early wicket of Sharjeel Khan. who only managed to score 4 runs off 4 balls.
Joe Clarke gave an exceptional performance scoring 43 runs off just 23 balls followed by Mohammad Nabi who racked up 30 runs off 14 balls. Babar Azam did not perform as per expectation but still gave a solid performance with his 24 runs off 20 balls and helping team Quetta Gladiators to the win. Meanwhile, Collin Ingram chipped in 17 runs from 22 balls.
