Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first, however, they failed to restrict the Islamabad United, who ended up setting a target of 192 runs to win the game in the second innings.

Islamabad United started out rough with Rahmanullah Gurbaz getting dismissed early in the game with just 2 runs off 5 balls, while his successor on the pitch, Muhammad Akhlaq, was also sent packing after scoring just 2 runs off 7 balls. However, opener Alex Hales managed 25 runs off 19 balls.
Shadab Khan was the highest run scorer for the Islamabad United with 34 runs off 26 balls, while Liam Davidson managed just 15 runs off 16 balls. Azam Khan and Asif Ali were able to add 28 and 29 runs to the total from just 11 and 10 balls, respectively.
Faheem Ashraf scored second highest runs with 29 off just 10 balls, which was much needed towards the end of the innings, while Hasan Ali also managed 12 runs off 12 balls.
Most of the Karachi Kings batting order failed to perform against Islamabad United, including their skipper Babar Azam, who was dismissed too early after scoring just 13 runs off 9 balls. However, Sharjeel Khan kept the team in the game as he scored 44 runs off 29 balls with no help from his fellow batsman.
Joe Clarke was dismissed for no runs, but Sahibzada Farhan, who replaced him on the pitch, managed 17 runs off 21 balls. However, it was Qasim Akram and Imad Wasim, who managed to give Karachi Kings a fighting chance with their solid partnership as they scored 51 and 55 runs off 26 and 28 balls.
Unfortunately, Islamabad United won by 1 run, which means Karachi Kings now has no chance to qualify forward in the tournament.
