Honor is gearing up to unveil the Honor 90 GT smartphone and the Honor Pad 9 on December 21, 2023. The latter will succeed the Honor Pad 8 and has recently had its design revealed, although specific specifications are yet to be officially confirmed by the company. However, a leak on Weibo, shared by a Chinese tech blogger, has shed light on the expected features of the Pad 9.

According to the leak, the new Honor Pad 9 will sport a 12.1-inch paper eye-protecting soft light screen with AG etched glass technology, designed to eliminate 98% of reflected light for a comfortable and glare-free viewing experience. Under the hood, the tablet is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset.
Other key specifications include an 8,300mAh battery supporting 35W fast charging, and it is speculated that the HEY2-W09 and HEY2-W19 variants recently certified by 3C are different versions of the Honor Tablet 9. The device is expected to run on Magic OS 7.2-based Android 13.
The Pad 9 is rumored to offer 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage, featuring a 13-megapixel rear camera. Catering to audiophiles, the tablet will come equipped with eight speakers, maintaining a feature from its predecessor. Color options for the device include black, white, and green.
With the HEY2-W09 variant receiving approval from the TDRA authority in November, it suggests the tablet will soon be available in the UAE, although other market releases remain unclear.
