iPhone 8 Price In The US To Start From $999 For 64GB Base Model

According to a new report, iPhone 8 price, at least in the US, will start from $999 for the 64GB base model. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Apple’s iPhone 8 it roundly anticipated to be the most impressive iPhone yet, with a new bezel-less OLED display, new form factor and new innards that will have everyone lusting after it.

The iPhone 8 will be unveiled on 12 September, according to a report at Mac4Ever.

However, some reports claim that it might not be available to buy until the fourth quarter, noting that the iPhone 8 may be available in limited quantity only. A note by analyst Timothy Arcuri from Cowen and Company has added weight to this and claims that production could be delayed due to issues with its Touch ID sensor.

Another report suggests the iPhone 8 may not arrive until 2018. A research Deutsche Bank, picked up by Business Insider, claims the smartphone won’t make it onto shelves this year due to supply chain issues and “technical challenges”.

As if just to confuse matters more, Digitimes is reporting that mass production of the iPhone 8 is on schedule and that the smartphone will see a release in October.

Price
If it’s anything like Apple’s new MacBooks, next year’s iPhone will be more expensive than this year’s release, and some are claiming that the highest-spec model will be the first iPhone to cost more than $1,000.

A new report at Forbes claims that pricing could start at an eye-watering $1,100 to $1,200, with Apple to offer the handset in 128GB and 256GB configurations only.

Unfortunately, that lust will likely be immediately tempered by the huge price tag that the iPhone 8 is expected to carry, with rumors over the past few weeks suggesting a $1000 price tag may not be too wide of the mark. Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8 in New York yesterday, and that device’s $960 price tag already has eyes watering. Surely Apple’s flagship cannot beat that huge asking price, can it?

According to a new report the answer to that is a very unfortunate, very resounding “yes.”

That news comes courtesy of The New York Times which appears to have a source claiming that anyone wanting to get into an iPhone 8 will have to hand over no less than $999 in order to do so. The note on pricing is actually tucked away inside a larger report on the iPhone as a whole, ten years on.

Recent reports have pegged the iPhone 8 as having a massive storage bump which may be part of the reason for the price increase, as well as that new screen and chassis that is being employed for the first time. If the rumors of a 64GB, 256GB and 512GB iPhone 8 are true however, those looking for the larger capacities will need a little sit down before reading this; A price of $999 for the 64GB iPhone 8 suggests that those buying the most expensive iPhone 8 will have to hand over approximately $1,199.

Admittedly, that is a lot of storage in a smartphone and we do not see too many people wanting, or needing that amount of memory but the fact one exists at all blows our minds. We think we may be more interested in seeing the pricing structure of the iPhone 8 more than the iPhone 8 itself!
