Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) sends SMS to all the customers to verify their Smartphones before 20 October 2018.

PTA has notified Mobile phone users about smuggled smartphones to verify them before the due date. Officially launched a page where IMEI numbers can be verified.
According to PTA only verified mobile phones will be active after the due date and all other mobile phones will be blocked.
PTA has strictly advised to buy only PTA compliant mobile SIM-based devices and also enabled SMS verification method by sending “IMEI Number” to 8484. Visit PTA official Page to verify your mobile phone or

Results of IMEI Checks
While checking the IMEI number of your phone through the above three methods, there could be three possible outcomes for your phone:
- Valid IMEI: This means that your phone IMEI is GSMA approved but not PTA approved.
- Invalid IMEI: Not a GSMA approved IMEI, nor PTA approved.
- Compliant IMEI: It is both GSMA approved and PTA approved IMEI number. Depending on your scenario, here’s what you need to do to register your smartphone so that it doesn’t get blocked from normal use later on.
