Samsung is consistently broadening its product range to accommodate diverse budgets with a variety of phones. While the much-anticipated Galaxy S24 series is on the horizon, the company is also introducing budget-friendly models like the Galaxy A05. Adding to this lineup is the Galaxy A15 5G, boasting a noteworthy feature commonly associated with “high-end” phones – an OLED Display.
Despite being the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, Samsung is a multifaceted entity with various departments. One such department, Samsung Display, is responsible for crafting screens not only for Samsung but also for competitors like Apple, giving the company a distinctive position in the tech landscape.
Remarkably, Samsung Display has achieved significant cost reductions, bringing OLED displays even to entry-level phones. The Galaxy A15 5G is the first example of this advancement. The company had previously surprised the industry by incorporating OLED displays into the Galaxy A1X and A2X models earlier this year. However, developments on this front had been relatively quiet since then.
Walmart, a prominent U.S. retail chain specializing in technological products, has unveiled the Galaxy A15 5G’s features, including its OLED display, in a listing. According to the information provided, the phone will launch with a price tag of $139, approximately 4,000 TL, offering a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display.
On the processing side, the phone is expected to feature a MediaTek chipset, likely the Dimensity 6100 Plus, though this has not been officially confirmed. It will be equipped with 4 GB of RAM and offer expandable internal storage of 128 GB via a MicroSD card.
The Galaxy A15 5G, anticipated for its camera performance, boasts a triple-camera setup: a 50-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front, users will find a 13-megapixel selfie camera. The potential battery size is 5,000mAh, supporting 25W fast charging. While the exact release date remains unknown, it is expected to hit shelves shortly after Samsung’s official announcement in the coming days.
