TikTok mentions that this content will be displayed when the algorithm deems it relevant to the user’s search.
The app is currently testing AI-generated summaries that may appear at the top of search results for specific queries. The Verge discovered these summaries for searches like “best laptops” and particular recipes.
These summaries, labeled as “AI Search highlights,” provide a brief overview of key details, similar to the AI-driven summaries seen on platforms such as Yelp, Slack, and Amazon.
It remains uncertain if this feature is being officially rolled out. Initial searches on TikTok accounts did not yield any AI-generated highlights.
