The social media platform Twitter has introduced the Voice Tweets feature for a select group of iOS users during the initial testing phase of the new feature.
Twitter made the announcement about the Voice Tweets feature via their blog post saying that the reason they have introduced this feature is to add a human touch to the way people use Twitter.
According to Twitter, the 280 characters aren’t sometimes to enough to explain what a person wants and much and sometimes text isn’t the right medium to express what someone wants to say.
How to use voice tweets?
Using the feature is fairly easy and all users have to do is open up the tweet composer and select the new wavelength icon available. Afterwards the users will see their profile photo with a record button they can use to start using Voice Tweets.
The feature has a 140 character limit and has a built-in auto thread feature which will automatically create a thread of Voice Tweets and upon hitting the Done button, the user will be taken back to the composer and can post the tweet.
According to the blog post shared by Twitter, this feature should help eliminate any misunderstandings by creating a more human experience allow people to share a simple story or even allow Journalists to share a breaking news quickly and easily.
The Voice Tweets feature is only available for select users on iOS as it is still under a testing phase from the company and hopefully we’ll soon see it on Android and Twitter web too.
This is the first voice tweet as shared by Twitter on their blog post.
