Meta-owned WhatsApp is working to bring email verification for users and feature is already available to select beta testers of the encrypted messenger.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s email verification will add an additional layer of security to user’s accounts as well as provide access to the account under certain situations.
There have been reports of WhatsApp team working on an email verification system since August and select beta users now have access to the feature.
As for beta users, if you haven’t received the email verification feature, you can try updating your WhatsApp for Android to beta version 2.23.24.10.
The feature is available for select users under WhatsApp Settings > Account > Email Address, where you can connect your email address with your account.
