Abu Dhabi’s firm launches first all-electric bus

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) has launched the first ever fully electric passenger bus in United Arab Emirates, pursues clean and energy efficient transport.

The UAE has set a clean energy target of 27 percent by 2021.

The Green energy company Masdar has invested $8.5 billion in renewable energy projects in UAE and abroad.

The first ever all-electric bus is jointly developed by Masdar an d Siemens Middle East and Hafilat Industry LLC, Abu Dhabi based bus manufacturer company.

All-Electric Passenger bus have the capacity of 30 passengers with the range of 150 kilometers (93) miles per battery charge.

The Solar panels are also used to power the Bus auxiliary system. The panels are designed to withstand the heat and humidity of UAE climate.

New All-electric bus will serve at six stop route within the capital of United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi.

The initiative is part of the series future transportation and enhancing intelligent transport system in Abu Dhabi and to provide facility to daily commuters in UAE.
