Dubai’s RTA Implements Truck Ban in Nad Al Sheba Reserve for Development Initiatives

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has introduced a 24/7 ban on trucks for specific roads within the Nad Al Sheba Reserve. This measure, implemented since the beginning of December, aligns with Dubai’s broader plans for the development of various areas and reserves, with Nad Al Sheba identified as a key location for extensive re-planning and development over the next decade.

The RTA is encouraging development companies in Nad Al Sheba and heavy vehicle drivers to utilize alternative routes designated for trucks. In cases where trucks must access the restricted roads, drivers are required to obtain a mobility permit through the integrated traffic system shared between the RTA and Dubai Police.

A map detailing the restricted roads is provided for reference. RTA, in collaboration with Dubai Police and other entities, will monitor compliance with the new restrictions among truck drivers. Violation tickets will be issued to those who do not adhere to the updated regulations.

This truck ban follows the completion of the initial phase of the Al Meydan Street improvement project, which involved the conversion of roundabouts into signalized junctions. Entrance signs have also been installed at streets branching from Al Khail Road and Al Meydan Street.
