GAZA (Friday 19 October 2018) – During the Friday protest, Israeli forces shot and wounded 77 Palestinians near the Gaza Strip border the enclave’s Health Ministry said.
About 10,000 protestors had gathered at the border as stated by Israeli military spokeswomen. She has also said some of the protestors threw burning tires and explosive devices at the troops across the fences.
The Gaza Health Ministry has identified that about 30 Palestinians suffered inhaling tear gas.
There was a sign of easing as the number of protestors was small as compared to previous gatherings included about 30.000 protestors.
On Thursday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, vowed “very strong action” if attacks continued. As on Thursday rockets were fired destroying a home in southern Israel. Following the rocket attack, Israel had ramped up armored forces along the Gaza border.
A Palestinian official, speaking on the situation has said to ease and prevent the violence, in the past few days Egyptian Security Officials had met with Israeli Counterparts and leaders of the Palestinian Islamist Hamas group that rule Gaza.
Palestinian protests have been going on since March 30. The protest demands the that the refugees that fled in the war of 1948 should be allowed to return back to Palestine.

In the past decade, three wars have been fought between Israel and Hamas. Even though Israel moved troops and settlers from Gaza in 2005, Israel has a tight control of its land. More than 2 million Palestinians are crammed in the narrow coastal territory as Egypt also confines movement in and out of Gaza on the Egyptian border.
