RIYADH: In a strong reaffirmation of Saudi Arabia’s stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) declared on Wednesday that the Kingdom would not recognize Israel unless a Palestinian state is established. MBS condemned the ongoing “crimes of the Israeli occupation” against the Palestinian people during his address to the advisory Shura Council, delivered on behalf of King Salman.
“The Kingdom will not stop its tireless work towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” MBS emphasized, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s long-standing position. “We affirm that the Kingdom will not establish diplomatic relations with Israel without that.”
He further stressed that the Palestinian cause remains a top priority for Saudi Arabia, thanking nations that have already recognized Palestine’s sovereignty.
In his annual speech to the Shura Council, the Crown Prince underlined Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing both regional and international security through diplomatic efforts. He reiterated the Kingdom’s adherence to a policy of good neighborliness, striving for peaceful solutions across the Middle East.
The Shura Council, Saudi Arabia’s consultative body, also swore an oath of office before Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday, ahead of his address.
