The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) recently took decisive action by revoking the licenses of two domestic worker recruitment agencies in UAE—Emirates International Centre for Domestic Workers and Al Shamsi Domestic Workers Services. This move was prompted by the agencies’ failure to adhere to the obligations outlined in the Domestic Workers Law and related regulations. These legal frameworks are designed to safeguard the rights of all parties involved in domestic work contracts, including employers, recruitment agencies, and domestic workers.
In response to the license revocation, MoHRE directed the agency owners to settle the status of their workers, fulfill outstanding obligations, and settle any fines accrued up to the license cancellation date. Local authorities were duly informed to initiate necessary actions against the two agencies.
MoHRE emphasized the importance of compliance among domestic worker recruitment agencies with the established legislation, which aims to enhance service quality for employers and families while protecting the rights of all stakeholders. The Ministry affirmed its commitment to rigorous implementation of legal procedures against agencies violating the law.
Commending agencies adhering to regulations, providing excellent services, and ensuring a safe environment for workers, MoHRE urged employers to exclusively engage with authorized agencies listed on its official website. They encouraged customers to report any negative practices or provide feedback on domestic worker recruitment agencies through their call center, cautioning against dealings with unlicensed agencies due to potential legal consequences.
