Saudi Arabia Imposes Heavy Fine for Leaving Children Unattended in Vehicles

As per Saudi law, it’s a traffic violation to leave children under ten years old unattended in a vehicle, and offenders can expect to be fined between 300 and 500 riyals.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to protect children while on the road. Furthermore, drivers are strongly encouraged to use child safety seats to enhance the safety of their young passengers.

The Public Prosecution stresses that the child protection system exists to shield children from abuse, neglect, and potential hazards in their environment.

As a progressive nation, Saudi Arabia prioritizes the protection of children’s rights. This commitment is evident in the extensive measures and regulations in place to ensure their safety and welfare, including the Protection from Abuse Law enacted in 2013 and the subsequent Child Protection Law.
