KARACHI: A TikToker has approached the Sindh High Court (SHC) to challenge the TikTok ban in Pakistan calling the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) decision unjust.
According to details, TikToker named Munib Ahmed has filed petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) against the TikTok ban in Pakistan stating that there are over 20 million users of the app and blocking it because a few people are misusing it is uncalled for and an unjust decision.
The petitioner pleaded to the Sindh High Court (SHC) to declare the ban as unlawful and instruct Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to restore services.
On Monday, PTA officials held a virtual meeting with TikTok management regarding the issues and discussed restoration of services once they arrive at the mutual agreement regarding moderation and censorship of unlawful content.

TikTok ban in Pakistan
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) banned TikTok in Pakistan on 9th October stating that the regulator had received numerous complaints regarding immoral and indecent content on the application.
According to the regulator, multiple notices were issued to TikTok but the application failed Since the application failed to comply with the instructions and filter out the vulgar content and put in place an effective moderation mechanism.
