Pakistan reports 111 deaths from coronavirus in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported 111 deaths from coronavirus during the last 24 hours along with 2,256 new infections on Thursday according to the data provided by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).

According to the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC), the countrywide tally of infections has reached 465,070 while 9,668 people have lost their lives to the deadly disease since the start of the pandemic.

The total count of active coronavirus cases is 38,268 out of which 2,361 patients are in critical conditions at hospitals across the country.

It is pertinent to mention that 1,782 people recovered from the infection during the last 24 hours bringing the total recoveries from the deadly disease to 417,134 so far since the first case was reported in Pakistan back in February 2020.

Pakistan has previously issued a ban on inbound UK flights while allowing only Pakistani passport holders to enter the country. The decision was taken after a new strain of the COVID-19 virus was detected by the health authorities in England.
