#RestoreAJKNetwork – Fake news starts trending on Twitter

Fake news regarding a full network outage in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) started trending on Twitter with hashtag #RestoreAJKNetwork on Wednesday.

#RestoreAJKNetwork, AJK Network
#RestoreAJKNetwork – Fake news starts trending on Twitter.

The trend started after Telenor services reportedly went down in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) with people blaming the government for taking this step and depriving people of internet services, which have become a necessity for everyone during the pandemic.

However, the #RestoreAJKNetwork trend was just fake news being tweeted again and again by people without any confirmation on the matter.

We were able confirm from three separate sources in Districts of Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot and Haveli in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and there was no network outage, including internet services were up and running.

This was just a fake trend being picked up by keyboard warriors without verifying the matter.
