A man arrested for the murder of two sisters in Kahna area of Lahore has confessed to the crime during the interrogation by police on Friday.
Both sisters, identified as Sajida, 28, and Abida, 26, went missing on November 26th after they left for the market but never returned home.
The bodies of the victims were discovered from a canal in Sue-e-Asal area. Abida’s body was found on 12th December 2020 while Sajida’s body was recovered on 4th January 2021.
The suspect, identified as Naeem, was reportedly friends with Sajida and both of them worked together at a factory together.
It is pertinent to mention that both sisters were married. One of them had four children while the other one had one.
The suspect, Naeem, has confessed to the crime and provided details of the incident to the police during their interrogation.
According to the investigating officer, the suspect teamed up with one of his factory workers Ejaz and “planned to murder Sajida as she had been blackmailing him.”
According to Naeem’s statement, Sajida was demanding Rs. 10,000 while blackmailing him so he called her to the field to hand her the money but instead ended up murdering both sisters.
Since Sajida came along with her sister Abida, the suspects tied both of them up and killed them in the fields. Naeem confirmed that afterwards, they dumped their bodies in the canal.
Ejaz is still on the run but police are carrying out further investigations into the incident. Furthermore, a First Information Report (FIR) has also been registered in the case.
Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also took notice of the murder of two sisters in Kahna area of Lahore and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police.
