ISLAMABAD: The petrol prices in Pakistan may increase from 16 January 2021, according to the recommendation by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended to increase the petrol price in Pakistan by Rs. 11.95 per liter, according to the summary sent to the Petroleum Division.
Furthermore, OGRA has also recommended to increase the diesel price in Pakistan by Rs. 9.57 per litre from 16 January 2021 but the final decision will be taken by the Prime Minister Imran Khan by tomorrow night.
If the Government approves the new petrol prices in Pakistan, these will come into effect from 16th January 2021 for a period of 15 days.
It is pertinent to mention that the federal government increased prices of petrol on 30th December 2020 by Rs. 2.31 per litre against a recommendation of Rs. 10.68 per litre by OGRA while the diesel price was raised by Rs. 1.08 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs. 3.36 per litre and light-speed diesel by Rs. 3.95 per litre.
The current petrol price in Pakistan is Rs. 106 per litre while diesel is being sold for Rs. 110.24 per litre, kerosene for Rs. 73.65 per litre and light-speed diesel for Rs. 71.81 per litre.
