Weather Update: Rain expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi & Lahore

WEATHER UPDATE: Rain and thunderstorm is expected in upper parts of the country including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad on the 23rd March 2021, said the Pakistan Meteorological Department on Thursday.

Furthermore, the heavy rainfall may trigger landslides in the vulnerable areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir regions, where temperatures are expected to be extremely cold with chances of hailstorms.

Moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected over in the upper parts of the Punjab region and Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot and adjoining areas while light to moderate thunder showers can also occur at Southern Punjab regions, including Sheikhupura, Narowal, Kasur and Okara from Thursday to Sunday.

Meanwhile, there are chances of thunderstorms accompanied by dust storms in some parts of Sindh but coastal regions are expected to remain dry.

Similarly, rain and isolated heavy showers are expected in Balochistan, including Zhob, Quetta, Sibbi, Khuzdar, Chaman, Nokkundi, Dalbadin, Panjgur, Turbat and Koh e Suleiman.
