Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube, Telegram suspended in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Social media platforms including, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube and Telegram have been suspended in Pakistan from 11am 3pm on 16 April 2021 (Friday), said the Interior Ministry.

The Interior Ministry has issued a notification in this regard.

Social media platforms Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, Twitter, YouTube and Telegram have been suspended in Pakistan temporarily to uphold the law and order situation in the country.

Widespread protests have been ongoing since the arrest of Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP) Chief Saad Hussain Rizvi.

The TLP protests have resulted in loss of life as well as extensive damage to public and private property which resulted in a ban on the religious party by the federal government.
