TLP Banned

The federal government on Thursday (15 April 2021) approached the apex court seeking the dissolution of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) after the federal cabinet approved the summary to ban TLP over anti-terrorism law.

The decision was taken after countrywide protests that turned violent after the party’s chief Saad Hussain Rizvi was arrested by police in Lahore before the party’s deadline to remove the French ambassador from the country.
