ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood has announced that all exams have been cancelled until 15 June 2021 due to rising number of infections and violation of coronavirus SOPs outside Cambridge exam centers.
The decision was announced by Shafqat Mahmood while addressing a press conference alongside Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan on Tuesday. The Federal Education Minister said that coronavirus cases have seen a sharp rise since 18 April 2021, therefore, the decision has been taken to cancel all exams until 15 June 2021.

Shafqat Mehmood said that Cambridge exams which started on Monday have been cancelled due to violation of SOPs outside the examination centers. Furthermore, he stated that O and A Level exams will now be held during the October / November session.
“Permission to hold exam was conditional on strict SOP observance.” said the federal minister. “As more reports have come in, It is obvious that outside the exam centres the compliance is poor.”

It is pertinent to mention that board exams which were supposed to commence from end of May have been delayed further. Shafqat Mehmood announced that exams for classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 have also been cancelled and postponed until 15 June 2021.
