Ban on travel, tourism during Eid holidays from 8 – 16 May

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has announced new restrictions during Eid holidays which will be observed from 8 till 16 May 2021 due to worsening conditions of COVID-19 across the country.

According to the notification issued by Ministry of Interior, there will be a complete ban on inter-provincial and inter-city travel during Eid ul Fitr holidays from 8 till 16 May 2021.

However, there is an exception for locals of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), who will be allowed to travel back to their homes during the holidays.

Furthermore, the notification directs timely issuance of SOPs and guidelines for itekaf, Shab-e-Qadar, Jumma-tul-Wida and Eid prayers should be ensures.

Moreover, there will be a complete closure of tourist hotspots, including tourist resorts, public parks, hotels, restaurants and shopping malls.

The notification also states that there must be uninterrupted electricity supply during Eid ul Fitr holidays.
