Saudi Arabia said that it will limit registration for Hajj 2021 to the citizens and residents of the Kingdom while barring foreign travelers from coming to the country for the pilgrimage this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“In light of what the whole world is witnessing from the continuing developments of the coronavirus pandemic and the emergence of new mutations, Hajj registration will be limited to residents and citizens from inside the Kingdom only,” the Saudi Hajj Ministry announced on Twitter.

The ministry also announced that the a total of 60,000 pilgrims will be allowed to perform Hajj 2021, which includes residents of all nationalities inside the Kingdom.
Furthermore, the ministry has stressed that those wishing to perform Hajj 2021 must be free of any chronic diseases. It added that only people aged between 18 and 65 who have been vaccinated will be allowed to take part in the annual pilgrimage.
Hajj pilgrims should be fully vaccinated, or those who took one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 day before, or those who are vaccinated after recovering from the coronavirus infection.
