Sindh High Court Imposes Ban on TikTok in Pakistan.

The order was issued in response to a petition filed by a citizen, who argued that the platform is being used to upload immoral and obscene content.

Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has been directed to suspend the TikTok in Pakistan until the next hearing, which is scheduled for July 8.

The court stated that TikTok had failed to monitor immoral content being uploaded on the application as promised before various courts.

According to the court, the video-sharing application also failed to respect laws and basic injunctions of Islam as it has been seen “celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month.”

It is pertinent to mention that a ban was placed on TikTok in Pakistan by Peshawar High Court (PHC) over indecent and immoral content being uploaded on the application.

However, the app management promised monitoring of content being uploaded to the application and removal of any such videos, including banning accounts responsible for uploading said videos.
