Minar e Pakistan Incident: TikToker Ayesha Akram Demands Justice

Female TikToker, Ayesha Akram, spoke up about the Minar e Pakistan incident that took place on Independence Day (14th August 2021) and demanded justice from Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In an interview with Daily Pakistan, TikToker Ayesha Akram about the details of the Minar-e-Pakistan incident, where she was harassed by hundreds of unidentified men for a few hours before being able to escape. Pakistani journalist Iqrar ul Hassan was also present in the interview.

“I did not wear any obscene clothing, nor I tried to be vulgar over there.” said the girl while speaking about the disturbing incident at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park.

Ayesha Akram said that she and her friends tried to get help from the police but did not get any response as the crowd was too large and they couldn’t escape the hundreds of men that were surrounding them.

PM Khan Takes Notice of Minar-e-Pakistan Incident

Prime Minister Imran Khan has taken notice of the horrendous incident at Minar e Pakistan and ordered appropriate authorities to take immediate action against everyone who harassed TikToker Ayesha Akram at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park.

The premier has spoken directly to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Inam Ghani about the incident at Minar e Pakistan, said PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari on Twitter.

FIR Registered

The First Information Report (FIR) has been registered by Lahore Police on the complaint of Ayesha Akram under Sections 354 A (assault or use of criminal force against woman and stripping her of her clothes), 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to commit the theft), 147 (rioting) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

UPDATE: Punjab Police has said that NADRA is in the process of identifying everyone involved in the incident.

Minar-e-Pakistan Incident – What happened to TikToker Ayesha Akram?

TikToker Ayesha Akram was filming a video with her friends at Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park near Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day when this incident took place and the girl was sexually harassed by 300-400 men, who went as far as to tear her clothes while passing her around between each other.

These men attacked the female TikToker along with her friends at Minar-e-Pakistan even though the group tried to escape but failed because of the crowd being too large.

According to the details, the park’s security guard tried to help and even opened up the around Minar-e-Pakistan but the crowd followed them as people were scaling the enclosure.

“However, the crowd was huge and people were scaling the enclosure and coming towards us. People were pushing and pulling me to the extent that they tore my clothes. Several people tried to help me but the crowd was too huge and they kept throwing me in the air,” said TikToker Ayesha Akram.

They reportedly took the girl’s ring and earrings as well as stole her friend’s mobile phone, CNIC, and Rs. 15,000 cash on hand while they attacked the group of friends and harassed the girl at Minar-e-Pakistan.
