The Punjab Government has announced that mobile phone services in Punjab will remain suspended on two days (27th and 28th September 2021) to maintain security during Chehlum Processions of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and avoid any unwanted incident.
The authorities will shut down mobile phone services along routes of procession on the eve of Chehlum and the next day on 27 and 28 September 2021.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed while addressing a press conference said that Pakistan Army and Rangers will be employed to maintain security during the Chehlum Processions.
The decision to suspend mobile phone services in Lahore was taken at the request of the police department in order to maintain security.
