Earthquake in Balochistan 20 killed hundreds injured

QUETTA: Earthquake of 5.9 magnitude struck 34 kilometers off Ziarat in Balochistan province, so far 20 have been killed and several injured, the house’s roof collapsed on Thursday morning.

According to The U.S. Geological Survey has detected a magnitude 5.9 earthquake approximately eight miles north-northeast of Harnai, Pakistan. Initial readings indicated that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.7. Local media sources reported that at least 20 people have been killed and an estimated 300 others have been injured. 

The most affected area due to quake is Harnai, district, which is located east of the provincial capital, The earthquake affected the capital city of Balochistan, Quetta, Sibi Harnai, Qila Saifullah, Ziarat and Zhob, The Provincial Disaster and Management Authority (PDMA) started rescuing civilians.

PDMA fears the death toll feared to rise, most of the deceased are children and women.
