Google has made a surprising announcement for Windows PC users at the Game Awards, saying that Google Play Games (or Android Games) are coming to both Windows 10 and Windows 11 in 2022.
It is pertinent to mention that Microsoft already announced a partnership with Amazon to bring Android Apps to the redesigned Microsoft Store in Windows, however, the announcement made by Google is completely separate from the Microsoft and Amazon partnership.
Goggle will release its own app for both Windows 10 and Windows 11, enabling users with a Google Play account to download Android Games to their Windows PC without having to purchase them again. The app will also offer a continuity feature that will allow users to switch between devices and pick up exactly where they left off in a game.
However, the company’s spokesperson did not delve into too much details on the matter and we are still not sure whether Google plans to extend this feature beyond game to other Android apps as well.
