WhatsApp to Introduce New Business Directory Feature

WhatsApp is working on introducing a new business directory feature to help users grow their businesses in the online space. The new feature will enable customers to search for nearby businesses using the Business Directory option available in the application.

According to WABetaInfo, six months ago, WhatsApp introduced the business directory feature as a way to quickly find new business accounts on the messaging platform without leaving the app. This feature is expected to be rolled out globally very soon as it is being released to some users in Sao Paulo.

WhatsApp has already started working on another option for the business directory feature that will enable users to search for nearby businesses. It is pertinent to mention that if you search on WhatsApp, the messaging application shows different results, including Photos, Videos, Links, GIFs, Audio, and Documents.

The company has now added the ‘Businesses Nearby’ option for users to allow them to filter the results and only show accounts for nearby businesses based on their location. WABetaInfo has provided a screenshot of the new business directory feature for WhatsApp.

The screenshot is taken from WhatsApp beta for Android, however, the service tracker says that the same feature will be made available for WhatsApp beta for iOS. However, the company has not announced any official release date for the new feature to be rolled out to users globally.
