The first ever locally assembled Completely Knocked Down (CKD) Unit of the Peugeot 2008 in Pakistan is finally here and car enthusiasts are very excited for this edition to the local SUV market in the country. The company has been testing a Completely Built Unit (CBU) of the Peugeot 2008 in Pakistan for some time now and it has finally started locally assembly of the vehicle as well.
The Peugeot 2008 is expected to be launched in Pakistan during the next couple of weeks and this is going to be the second European car being introduced in the local automotive industry after Morris Garages (MG). The Peugeot cars are being introduced in Pakistan in collaboration with Lucky Motors, who are known for bringing back KIA vehicles to Pakistan.
Peugeot 2008 Expected Price in Pakistan
The expected price of the Peugeot 2008 in Pakistan is Rs. 4.5 million. However, there is no confirmation by the company in this regard but an official announcement in this regard is expected soon. It bears mention that the vehicle will probably take on the Hyundai Elantra, Toyota Yaris and Honda Civic in this price range.
Engine and Transmission
According to the Official Website, the Peugeot 2008 in Pakistan will be equipped with a 1.2L MPI Turbo Engine, which is capable of producing 130HP and 230NM of Torque, while mated with a 6-speed auto transmission. However, the company might plan to introduce a manual variant of vehicle but nothing is confirmed at this point.
