The South Korean Tech Giant has also shared a teaser of the upcoming chip on its social media pages. However, the video doesn’t give much information, not even the name of the SoC, which is rumored to be called the Samsung Exynos 2200.

According to the company, the new chip seems to focus on improved gaming performance. “Stay tuned for the next Exynos with the new GPU born from RDNA 2.” the company’s semiconductor branch said on Twitter.

It bears mentioning that the Samsung S21 Fan Edition (FE) is also expected to be unveiled at the ceremony on 11 January, however, the smartphone will not feature the new Samsung Exynos 2200 SoC as it is an older handset, which has already been delayed by the company.

The upcoming Samsung Exynos 2200 will be reserved for the Galaxy S22 series, which are expected to arrive in February .

The Samsung Exynos 2200 will feature AMD’s RDNA 2, the architecture which is used in AMD’s RX6000-series and it is also used in the current Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Moreover, the hardware will also support ray tracing, which will be a first for mobile devices.
