According to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the total bandwidth in the country has gone down by 20 percent, however, arrangements are being made to add more capacity to other submarine cables to minimize the impact on internet services in Pakistan.

In a press release, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) stated that internet users may experience downgraded speeds during peak hours.

However, the issue of slow internet services in Pakistan will persist until the submarine cable fault is rectified completely and there is no timeline as to when these repairs would be completed, which could take hours, days, or weeks before internet services services are fully restored.

“Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is monitoring the situation and will continue to update on it.” said the notification.
