The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has shared a weather update issued by the Met Department, which predicts rain and snowfall western and upper parts of the country from Tuesday (18 January 2022) to Thursday (20 January 2022).
Under this weather system, there is expected snowfall (light to moderate) in Murree from Tuesday to Thursday, while rain (light to moderate) is expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Khushab, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, and Kasur, from Tuesday to Thursday.
The coming snowfall in Murree may lead to road closure for safety purposes.
Furthermore, the prevailing dense fog is likely to subside after the rain in parts of Punjab.
The notification directs authorities to remain alert and take all necessary precautionary measures during the forecasted period to avoid loss of life / property.
