Punjab Scooter Program For Female Teachers – Details Revealed

The Government of Punjab had proposed the ‘Punjab Scooter Program’ that would provide electric scooters to all female teachers, lady polio workers, women health workers and working women of all government and semi-government institutions across the province.

According to the details, the Punjab Scooter Program will provide 160,000 electric scooters to school teachers and other female employees who are permanent employees. However, the electric scooters will not be provided free of charge and a monthly installment of Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 3,000 will be deducted from the employees pay depending on the employment status.

The school teachers and other female employees can apply for the Punjab Scooter Program if their salaries are less than Rs. 50,000. Moreover, the applications for the program will be accepted in August and they will be evaluated by the provincial government in November with distribution starting in December.

The project will benefit working women in the province and it will enable them to come to offices safely. Furthermore, Leader of Teacher’s Unions, Shafiq Bhalwalia and Bashara Iqbal Raja have welcomed the decision, adding that male teachers should also be provided motorcycles on easy installments.
