The Punjab University (PU) has announced two holidays on 8 and 9 August 2022 on the occasion of Ashura (9th and 10th Muharram).
“It is hereby notified that the University of Punjab will remain closed on 8th and 9th August, 2022 (Monday and Tuesday) on the occasion of Ashura (9th & 10th Muharram 1444 AH).” said the notification issued by the Office of Registrar.

It is pertinent to mention that the Federal Government has also issued a notification announcing a two-day public holiday for the occasion of Ashura (9th & 10th Muharram).
