PTI Postpones Jalsa in Karachi and Hyderabad Due to Rain

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has postponed its public gatherings (Jalsa) in Karachi and Hyderabad due to heavy spell of monsoon rain in the cities.

PTI had originally planned a rally (Jalsa) in both Karachi and Hyderabad on August 19 and 20, however, the urban flooding in both cities have forced the PTI leadership to postpone the rallies.

According to the Met Office, Hyderabad has received over 204mm of rainfall during the last 60 hours, which includes 92mm during 12 hours of August 18.

Karachi has also received an unprecedented amount of rainfall and major areas of the city are submerged in water.

The Government of Sindh also closed all public and private schools and colleges on Thursday (18 August 2022) due to the heavy rainfall across the province.
