Senior journalist and anchorperson, Arshad Sharif, was shot dead by a sniper in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.

According to the details, Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya’s capital of Nairobi and his wife, Javeria Siddique has confirmed the news herself. “I lost friend, husband and my favorite journalist [Arshad Sharif] today, as per police he was shot in Kenya. Respect our privacy and in the name of breaking pls don’t share our family pics, personal details and his last pictures from hospital.” she tweeted.

However, some sources suggest that Arshad Sharif died as a result of a road accident, which has been confirmed as false news. Meanwhile, the local police have initiated a probe and they are investigating Arshad Sharif’s murder.

“I lost friend, husband and my favorite journalist [Arshad Sharif] today, as per police he was shot in Kenya. Respect our privacy and in the name of breaking pls don’t share our family pics, personal details and his last pictures from hospital.” Tweeted the journalist’s wife, Javeria Siddique.

Arshad Sharif was previously associated with ARY News and he was spotted in London a few days after arriving in the Dubai.

Following the news of Arshad Sharif’s death, social media started trending with #ArshadSharif and condolences started pouring in from across the country.

Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh, the Chairman and CEO of BOL Network, took to Twitter to extend his condolences. “Deepest condolences & prayers to Arshad Sharif’s family. During his darkest hours, when he lost his job & was forced into self-exile, we stood by & made him part of the Bol Family. He was an icon & will be remembered for his principally-driven journalism for generations.” he stated.

Meanwhile, notable journalist, Ihtisham-ul-Haq also expressed his grief over the news of Arshad Sharif’s passing.

“I still can’t believe it. I am speechless. May Allah SWT grant him highest place in Jannah. Ameen.” said ARY’s Salman Iqbal on Twitter.

PML-N’s Hina Pervez Butt also took to Twitter and extended heartfelt condolences on the news of Arshad Sharif’s passing.

Several other notable figures, including Imran Riaz Khan, express their condolences on social media.
