The Witcher Season 4 To Replace Henry Cavill With Liam Hemsworth

Netflix has renewed “The Witcher” for a fourth season and announced a major change as it recasts Geralt of Rivia, a role previously played by everyone’s favorite, Henry Cavill, with Liam Hemsworth. According to the details, the streamer announced the renewal of “The Witcher’s Season 4” and casting news on Saturday afternoon, with both Henry Cavill and Liam Hemsworth releasing their own statements.

“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4,” Cavill said in a statement on Instagram. “In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.”

“As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men.” he added. “Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.” Henry Cavill concluded as he passed the character’s torch to Liam Hemsworth.

Meanwhile, Liam Hemsworth also released a statement on Instagram. “As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia.” Hemsworth stated on Instagram. “Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honored that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure,”

“Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character.” Hemsworth’s statement reads. “I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.” Hemsworth stated in his annoucement.

Liam Hemsworth is a fan favorite too and best known for his role as Gale Hawthorne in “The Hunger Games” series, starring alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson and Josh Hutcherson. Meanwhile, Henry Cavill has several other projects in the works, including the upcoming Netflix’s “Enola Holmes 2”, starring opposite Millie Bobby Brown.

Additionally, Henry Cavill will be reprising his role as Superman for an upcoming Warner Bros. film, however, there are no details of that project yet. Furthermore, Cavill also did a cameo in the newly released “Black Adam”, appearing in a sequence that teases a battle between Superman and Dwayne Johnson’s anti-hero, “Black Adam.”

Reactions

However, “The Witcher” fans are not happy with the announcement and have taken to social media to express their disappointment over the news.
