Islamabad Bans Pillion Riding on New Year

Islamabad authorities have imposed a ban on pillion riding for two days on New Year (31st October 2022 till 1st January 2023) as part of the security arrangements to maintain peace and order in the Federal Capital.

According to the notification issued by Additional District Magistrate, Usman Ashraf, it was stated that certain pillion riders are likely to resort to violence and disrupt the peace and tranquility causing damage to public life and property on new year’s eve.

Therefore, the Islamabad administration has imposed a ban on pillion riding in the Federal Capital from 31st December 2022 till 1st January 2023 under Section 144 Cr PC 1898. Furthermore, the Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) will remain on high alert with multiple checkpoints all over the city to maintain law and order situation.
