Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed concerned authorities to finalize a program to provide cheap petrol at subsidized rates to motorcycle and rickshaw drivers in order to counter the effects of skyrocketing inflation.
It is pertinent to mention that a similar programme “Sasta Petrol, Sasta Diesel Relief Package” was introduced by the Federal Government last year to provide subsidy to the women head of household with income less than Rs. 40,000.
Under the Sasta Petrol, Sasta Diesel Relief Package, the Federal Government provided a subsidy of Rs. 2,000 to households with a monthly earning of less than Rs. 40,000 in order to spare them from the burden of high petrol prices in the country.
However, the Prime Minister has not provided any details about the new petrol relief package for motorcycle and rickshaw drivers, which is going to be finalized by concerned authorities and submitted for approval.
