Sindh Cancels Exams in Karachi Due to Cyclone Biparjoy

The Government of Sindh has cancelled all exams and other education related activities in Karachi due Cyclone Biparjoy.

In a notification issued by the Assistant Commissioner Karachi, Abid Qamar Shaikh, it was stated, “[…] In wake of the high alert issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Government of Sindh regarding Cyclone – Storm Biparjoy, which may likely hit the coastal areas of Karachi Division and cause torrential rains/storms in the city.”

It added, “Keeping it view of the above, it is necessary that all examinations, education seminars, summer camps, and education related activities may be cancelled / rescheduled from 14th June, 2023 till the end of the storm to avoid any loss of human lives and inconvenience to the general public during the cyclonic emergent situation.”

According to PMD, the cyclone Biparjoy over the northeast Arabian Sea has moved further north-northwestward during the last six hours. Cyclone Biparjoy is now 410 km south of Karachi, 400 km south of Thatta, near Latitude 21.2°N and Longitude 66.6°E.

Therefore, all exams and other education related activities have been cancelled in Karachi due to the Cyclone Biparjoy.
