Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eid ul Adha on 28 June 2023 as the crescent moon for Zil Hajj was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Sunday (June 18), which means the first day of the month will fall on June 19 (Monday).
The sighting of the crescent means that ‘Day of Arafah’ will be on Tuesday (June 27) and the first day of Eid ul Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday (June 28). Normally, most of the Gulf countries celebrate both Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha on the same days.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Meteorological Department aka Met Office has stated that crescent for the month of Zil Hajj will be sighted on June 19. According to the Met Office, as the birth of the new moon was expected on June 18 at 9.37 pm, the crescent could be sighted on June 19.
Furthermore, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) will meet for the sighting of the Zil Hajj crescent at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) in Karachi on Monday. The meeting will be chaired by RHC Chairperson, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
Moreover, the meetings of the zonal and district committees will be made at their respective headquarters at the same date and time.
