In a tragic incident, a gruesome accident at Swan Bridge on the GT Road in Rawalpindi caused multiple deaths and several critical injuries after a truck loaded with cement bags lost control and crashed into multiple cars.
Many of the vehicles in the way of the truck were badly crushed, while one of the cars was thrown over the bridge and into the valley below, which resulted in numerous deaths and several critical injuries.
The authorities reached the scene of the accident and closed the bridge for traffic in order to carry out rescue services. While the Swan Bridge is now open for traffic, there is traffic congestion for commuters coming from Bostan Road, Car Chowk and High Court.
Meanwhile, users on social media are sharing video footage of the terrible accident on GT Road’s Swan Bridge, which shows the truck losing control and crashing into other vehicles. According to some reports, the breaks on the truck failed and it was unable to slow down, especially with loads of cement in the back.
All the dead bodies and the injured individuals were moved to a nearby hospital.
