The District Administration of Islamabad has banned the use of airhorns on Independence Day (14 August 2023).

According to the a tweet by the Office of Islamabad Deputy Commissioner, there will be a strict ban on the use of airhorns on the roads on Independence Day.

In response to a tweet, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner added that ‘action is being taken,’ against sellers and airhorns are being confiscated as well.

It is pertinent to mention that the court of Judicial Magistrate Malir has also announced a ban on the sale and purchase of airhorns in Karachi.

The decision is being taken to suppress noise pollution because every year children as well as adults tend to use these airhorns in residential areas, which causes a nuisance, especially at night time.
