In a tragic incident, Maulana Tariq Jamil’s son, Asim Jamil, has been shot dead in Tulamba Tehsil of Khanewal district of Punjab.
According to the details, Asim Jamil’s body was shifted to Tulamba Hospital, where it was confirmed that he died from a bullet to the chest.
Speaking to Samaa News, DPO Khanewal Rana Umar Farooq Salamat said, “Nephew of Tariq Jamil has claimed that Asim Jamil shot himself.”
The police have launched an investigation into the incident and Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Dr Usman Anwar has directed the DPO to collect forensic evidence to ascertain the reason behind Jamil’s death.
Maulana Tariq Jamil took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the demise of his son Asim Jamil. “My son Asim Jamil has passed away today in Tulamba. This accidental death has made the atmosphere mournful,”
He added, “We request everyone to remember us in your prayers on this disheartening occasion. May Allah grant my son a high place in Jannat.”

Maulana Tariq Jamil said that funeral prayers of his late son Asim Jamil will take place today (30 October 2023) at 7:30 pm in their native village of Raisabad in Tulamba.
میرے مرحوم بیٹے عاصم جمیل کی نمازِ جنازہ آج بروز سوموار 30 اکتوبر، رات ساڑھے سات بجے ہمارے آبائی گاؤں رئیس آباد، تلمبہ میں ادا کی جائے گی.
