OpenAI has restored access to ChatGPT after a worldwide outage plagued the AI chatbot for almost five hours.
Taking to their Status Page, Open AI wrote, “We are back up and everything should be working as expected. We are monitoring closely to ensure you have full service.”
They added, “We plan to publish a public postmortem to explain what happened and how we’ll prevent similar issues in the future.”
It is pertinent to mention that OpenAI’s ChatGPT went down worldwide for uses regarding of their subscription type for almost five hours.
According to OpenAI, the underlying issue was due to an issue with their database replicas. ChatGPT and non-completion API endpoints were partially impacted, while completion API endpoints including chat completions were only minimally impacted.
