The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is gearing up to implement strict measures targeting non-filers. According to ProPakistani, non-filers can expect their mobile SIM cards and phones to be blocked very soon as the FBR plans to issue the Income Tax General order by January 15.
Additionally, the FBR is formulating a strategy to disconnect electricity for non-filers, although concerns arise due to incomplete data on their electricity connections and potential legal challenges.
Notably, the FBR achieved a historic milestone by collecting Rs. 1,021 billion in a single month (December 2023). The official statement from the FBR highlights that both monthly and six-month financial year targets were surpassed.
